On Thursday 19 February 2026, Perth Film Studios was full of energy as we welcomed Western Australia’s screen community to a relaxed and celebratory industry networking night at our Whiteman precinct. From the first arrivals to the final conversations of the evening, it was a night about people: catching up, making new connections and sharing a genuine excitement about the future of screen production in WA.
Hosted by Perth Film Studios alongside our partners at the Arts and Culture Trust and Screenwest, the event brought together screen practitioners, creatives, producers and industry leaders from right across the state. Set within our purpose‑built facilities, the studios provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of easy conversation, ideas and collaboration.
Sound Stage 3 quickly became the heart of the night. Guests enjoyed delicious catering by Gather Foods, drinks in hand, as they moved through the space and settled into the atmosphere. The stage and surrounding areas were beautifully brought to life by Elite Lighting, who helped make the studios look their absolute best and gave the whole evening a warm, welcoming glow.
Formal proceedings began with a Welcome to Country by Uncle Barry Maguire, offering a meaningful and grounding start to the night. This was followed by a series of short addresses that reflected on the strength of WA’s screen industry, the talent within it, and the importance of working together to support its continued growth.
As the evening unfolded, guests were encouraged to explore the wider site at their own pace through self‑guided tours, taking in spaces including Workshop 3, Annex 3, and the Screening Room. For many, it was an exciting chance to see how the studios are designed to support creativity, collaboration and large‑scale production.
Earlier in the evening, board members from Ausfilm, Screenwest, Lotterywest and the Arts and Culture Trust joined Perth Film Studios for a guided tour of the site, highlighting the strong partnerships and shared commitment that underpin the studios and the broader industry.
With a great turnout and a genuinely positive energy throughout the night, the event was a wonderful reminder of the passion, creativity and community that drives WA’s screen sector. Perth Film Studios is proud to help bring the industry together – and we’re looking forward to many more nights like this.
